Research Support

It might be summer, but we are happy to help you year-round. Here are some ways to get in touch:

E-mail all of our librarians, and one of them will get back to you. You can also search our FAQs, submit a question, or schedule a virtual appointment at your convenience.

Access to Academic Software

You can use many specialized academic tools from off-campus.

Access these tools with the Virtual Desktop.

  • In a browser on a desktop computer, open https://vdibroker1.wheatonma.edu.
  • On the right side of the page, select VMware Horizon HTML Access.
  • Enter your Wheaton wID and password. Click Login.
  • Double click on the Public Desktops icon. Be patient! It can take 45 seconds for the virtual desktop to appear.
  • Double click the Logoff icon when you are done. Select Yes to leave the session.

For academic access to ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Submit a help desk ticket.
  • Use the category Other Options Ex: (Virtual Desktop, Software Requests).
  • Enter the required information when requested.

Checked Out Library Books

Take most books home

  • Due dates are extended.
  • Take most library books home with you.
  • Returning students can bring Wheaton library books back in September.
  • Seniors who live local to Wheaton and can travel  to campus should return books in the book drop inside the first set of library doors. 
  • Seniors who do not live local to Wheaton or who cannot travel to campus should mail books to the address below. If mailing books presents a financial hardship, please contact circulation@wheatoncollege.edu for assistance.
  • Books from HELIN libraries may need to be returned before September. We will be in touch.

Return books

If you want to mail books back, send them book rate (cheapest!) to:

If you want to drop your books off while on=campus, use the book return bin located between the two sets of main entrance doors.
