Library Services for Spring 2020

Information about Wallace Library services and operations during the spring 2020 semester.

Dear Wheaton Faculty,

We're here to support your teaching and your students' learning in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Information about library hours, building access, on-site services, checking out library books, and accessing online library materials and help from off campus is on the main page of this site.

Information and Digital Literacy Instruction

Librarians are here to provide digital and information literacy instruction and assignment support. Depending on how you have structured your remote class, we are happy to provide synchronous or asynchronous learning experiences. As always, your liaison is available to discuss and imagine how a lesson in information literacy can provide scaffolding for your research assignment. Reach out to your department’s liaison directly or fill out this form to book instruction.

You can also encourage your students to submit a ticket for more in-depth queries, or book virtual appointments with us.

Backup Plans: Provide Access to Other Materials

Share links to resources

In addition to course reserves, consider sharing library and open access materials with your students.

Find links to content through the library

Use the Permalink

Copy the permalink, not the URL in the address bar. Send that to your students through email or put the link in OnCourse. A permalink (aka document URL, persistent URL, durable link, or stable link) can show up in different places, depending on the database. For instance, ProQuest calls it a Document URL and it appears in the abstract/details of the record.

Proquest calls the persistent URL a document URL.
